Batuan Temple Bali is a beautiful Balinese Hindu temple with beautiful ornaments and Balinese rooftops made of black palm tree fiber which is one of TRI KAHYANGAN or TRINITY Temple in Bali,  The location is strategic beside the main road from Denpasar to Ubud.

For over a thousand years, Batuan has been a village of artists and craftsmen, old legends and mysterious stories. Batuan Temple Bali was founded in 944 saka (1020 AD). Almost 1000 years.

Batuan Temple Bali is a category of Puseh Temple based on the Tri Kahyangan or Trinity concept taught by Mpu Kuturan around the 10th century to the Balinese Hindu community at that time. Tri Kahyangan or Trinity Temple including :

  • Village Temple as a place of worship God Brahma (the Creator)
  • Pura Puseh to worship Lord Vishnu (the Sustainer)
  • Dalem Temple to worship Lord Shiva (the Destroyer)

The Temple parking Area, there is an ancient building called Wantilan, this place is used as a meeting room and to practice Balinese dance such as Gambuh Dance, Pendet Dance, etc.

Before entering the temple there are some Local people in Wantilan will lend you kamben (traditional Balinese costume). It is a must for you to wear Balinese kamben to show your respect and respect about the holiness of the Batuan Village User Shrine. Everything is free, you will not be charged for admission.

However, local people expect every tourist visiting this temple can donate some money to support the maintenance of the temple. There is provided a simple donation box. Every donation you give must be based on a sense of sincerity, where the Balinese know that it is called a median punia.

In the central courtyard of the temple there is a long building called Bale Agung and Bale Kulkul (mad gong by wood or bamboo). In this courtyard there is also the entrance of the High Gate of Bali called Kori Agung, which is flanked by many statues of giant sculpture guards.

Kori Agung’s function is the doorway where the entrance and entry of the gods is represented by a small statue called Pratima. Next to Kori Agung are two small doors as a place to exit and enter people into the main courtyard of the temple.

In the main courtyard of the temple there are about three stories of Meru and Bale Pengiyasan as a symbol of Besakih temple, there is also a building called Padmasana as a place of worship to Sang Hyang Widhi, the only Balinese Hindu god.
